Mehndi (also known as henna) is a temporary tattoo that is often done before or during the Jaggo/Sangeet. We decided to have the mehndi celebration the day before the Jaggo where our family members, friends, Harinder and I got mendhi applied to the palms and tops of our hands in beautiful designs. Since I was also having an American ceremony later that week, I choose a design that would compliment my Indian Suits while also my American Dress. The bride typically gets a more detailed design; so I had mehndi applied to my feet in addition to my hands. The groom typically gets the bride's name written in henna on his palm.

Here are some pictures of my Mehndi being done:

Mehndi is the perfect time to relax and enjoy the company of your friends and family as you have to sit in place for quite a few hours. So relax, enjoy and take this time in. xoxo.
