The Sikh ceremony was one of the more challenging events to plan. We wanted to have the ceremony in Mexico, however, it is not particularly easy to find a priest that is available to travel.

We did a lot of research and finally found Dr. Freedom Singh & Leela to perform our wedding. They perform bilingual Sikh weddings worldwide and have many years of experience. We met via Facetime prior to the wedding so we could get to know them better and they could get to know us and our story. They made us feel comfortable and eased any concerns we were having regarding the ceremony.

We had the ceremony in a room that was covered but with open walls so there was a nice ocean breeze flowing into the room. For the décor, we had a simple mandap and pillows for our guests to sit on. We provided a few chairs for guests that could not sit for a long period of time. We also provided head coverings for our guests and advised them to cover their heads and take off their shoes for the ceremony.

Here are a few pictures of the ceremony, it was truly amazing, and we felt an overwhelming amount of support from Dr. Freedom Singh, Leela, both of our families and all our friends.
