As soon as we got engaged, my mind started constantly racing. Where should we have the wedding? Locally? Destination? Elopement?
After many pros and cons charts – we decided on a destination wedding. We absolutely love Mexico and it made sense for us. We love the sunshine and it was very important to me to be as relaxed as possible during the wedding.
To decide on a venue, I would highly recommend taking a trip to the location to get the feel. It makes all the difference! We visited three different resorts during our short three-day trip to Mexico.
We decided on the all-inclusive resort Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos in San Jose del Cabo which is approximately 35 minutes from downtown Cabo San Lucas and only 15 minutes from the Los Cabos International Airport. Since we were having quite a few events, it was important to us that the resort had multiple locations within the venue we could host them at. The Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos was the best choice!
Some pros of having an all-inclusive resort are:
1. You can choose from various wedding packages or a la carte
2. Food and drinks are typically included in the price
3. There is either no venue fee (or a small one)
4. You can cut out transportation as people usually are already staying at the resort
5. They have preferred vendors – ours had in-house lighting and DJ who knew the resort well
6. It’s usually very affordable
7. It’s a party!
Our wedding coordinator and every one of the staff at the resort were absolutely amazing and made the entire process so easy for us! We were planning during the covid pandemic and I can’t imagine having it anywhere else. An all-inclusive is the way to go!
